I enjoyed Fragments so much I finished it and record time for me. See all 1 customer reviews. Most helpful customer reviews on Amazon. Verified Purchase. It was fascinating to travel across the ruins of America. I would recommend to anyone getting ready to read, that you will definitely want an Atlas of America so you can track Kira's progress. However, the many MANY different perspectives were extremely confusing.
I would have been more than happy sticking with Marcus, Samm and Kira. Especially towards the end. I understand deadlines, but having your character pull out her only gun twice in the same page is just a little sloppy on the editors part. And it was stated again from Ariel's perspective that she had gotten pregnant as soon as she could to get away from her guardian.
Something just isn't aligning there. Also I couldn't have been more disappointed with the chemistry between Samm and Kira. It almost felt like their love interest was forced just because love is something that's "supposed" to be in YA. And their final kiss was over so quickly that it was just disappointing. I mean we got more details and felt more when Samm kissed someone else.. I would have rather been shown not told that it was "perfect unity".. Waste of a kiss if you ask me. This series is so thought provoking! I swear every page it makes me question humanity and the choices we make on a deep level.
It is one element that makes this series and dystopian stand out above all others. Dan Wells writing style is immaculate which is why this story works so well. I still will say the characters is where I am having the disconnect.
The choices they make sometimes are just unnecessary. However the knowledge and info we are given in this book is wild. The direction this book is going in is intriguing and I am eager to see how it is all wrapped up. Fragments really has me torn. I feel like there were a lot of pros and cons in this book. It wasn't bad but I feel like there are a few things that I'm going to complain about a lot.
We find out more about the Partials, how they're connected to humans, what Kira is, and what role her "parents" played in the war. These answers are what kept me reading the book. I so desperately wanted them, and I was thrilled when I got them!
Audiobook Review – Fragments (Partials, Book 2) by Dan Wells (4/5 stars)
The world building in Fragments was just as epic as in Partials. I honestly think we could cut out one third to one half of the book and still understand everything perfectly. This book was WAY too descriptive for my liking. We'd have a 30 page description on how they crossed a bridge. A 20 page description about Kira tip-toeing around a room to avoid an enemy. It just dragged on and on. I found myself skipping pages at a time just to get past the descriptions and move onto the action.
The slow pace kept me from wanting to pick the book back up. There were a few times where I actually considered putting it down permanently because I was bored.
Fragments (Partials Sequence, Bk. 2) - galase.ga
Ultimately, it took like a week for me to finish it because I had such little desire to keep picking it back up. This was definitely the book's biggest downfall. It could have easily been cut down to or at most, without the story suffering because of it. Show related SlideShares at end. WordPress Shortcode. Lotrambetu Follow. Published in: Education.
